SideWinder
Sprockets and Chains
How does that old saying go about being an
innovator or an imitator? You know, the one where one
company constantly looks to improve on their own original
ideas. Spending whatever it takes on R & D to bring a
product to market that far exceeds anything before it.
While the other companies stick their fingers in the air
deciding which way a market trend might blow to hammer
out an inferior knock off. We'll, SideWinder has proven
yet again that they are the innovators with their high
quality, extremely durable sprocket and chain sets for
motorcycles and ATVs. There are plenty of imitators in
the sprocket and chain industry scrambling to try and
copy what SideWinder has spent over 4 years perfecting.
Hi-Energy Laser cutting of sprockets from materials that
manufacturers only dreamed about using a few years ago.
You might
be saying "big deal, sprockets are sprockets and a
chain is a chain." Au contraire. Stainless steel
sprockets and chains will outlast several sets of
aluminum or cheap steel sprockets and chains. True,
stainless weighs more than aluminum, but unless your
working on your back flip for next years X-Games you'll
never notice a pound or two. Stainless steel rear
sprockets cost about $40 more than the aluminum ones and
the stainless steel chain is about $20 more, but
considering how many times longer they last... You do the
math. If you've been riding for any length of time you
know how fast worn out sprockets and chains can
accumulate!

The
SideWinder sprockets and chain bolted up on the
Wheelbynet.com Yamaha WR250f four stroke without a hitch.
While this may not be one of the big bore 450 four
strokes, it still chews up its fair share of sprockets
and chains. The added torque of today's modern racing
four strokes can really stress out the chain and
sprockets. It appears, SideWinder has tamed these sprocket
chewing monsters with their "Survivor" series
of sprockets and chains.
