The
Bed Buddy from CCR Sport
The Bed Buddy is a motorcycle tie-down support brace for
pickup trucks. It's available in three sizes to fit any size
truck bed. The CCR001 model is for full size trucks and can
accommodate up to three bikes. The CCR003 fits mid size
trucks (Tundra, Dakota) and can also haul up to three
bikes. The model that I'll be reviewing here is the
CCR002 mini truck model which can carry two bikes at a
time. And if you've ever tried loading two full size
bikes in the back of a mini truck you know how awkward it
can be. Was that a good place for the center tie downs to
go? Are you sure they're on tight? Is the front tire
going to slip? These are not the kind of question you
want to be asking yourself while traveling 70mph down the
interstate.
 
 
The Bed
Buddy is manufactured out of lightweight steel alloy and
powdercoated for a durable finish. (10 lbs.) The tapered
front wheel slots can accommodate many different front
tire sizes. The tire slots are perfectly placed. They're
wide enough apart so the handle bars won't rub together.
The tie down loops make quick work out of loading and
unloading your bikes. The center loop is right where it needs to be. There's no more fishing tie-downs
through spokes or over the wheels. Push the front tire
into the slot, put the tie downs on your handle bars and
in the loops and cinch it down. It's that simple. And the
plastic on your bikes no longer has to be sacrificed just to get them to the track.
It took
about 15 minutes to mount the Bed Buddy in the truck
bed. Line it up and mark the three holes. Drill the
holes, put the Bed Buddy in place and use the provided
screws to fasten it down.
It takes
less than 5 minutes to load both bikes. Without the Bed
Buddy it would take more than three times longer and the
bikes still would never fit right. Now, load them up,
cinch them down and they're part of the truck. No more
swaying back and forth.
Knowing
your bikes are secured properly is reason enough to own
the Bed Buddy. And just think, the time normally spent
loading and unloading can now be used more wisely.....
